Fr. Richard J. Feller, 88, Pastor Emeritus of Holy Ghost Church in South Holland, passed away peacefully on the Feast of Pentecost at St. Benedict Nursing and Rehab Center. Beloved son of the late Nicholas J. and the late Loretta M., nee Chambers; loving brother of Thomas (Barbara) Feller, Margaret (Thomas) Campbell, the late Sister Mary Loretta, BVM, the late Jane (late Joseph) Elbow, the late Nicholas (Marie), the late Audrey (late Aloysius) Philipp and the late Barbara (late Leslie) Burton; proud uncle of 19 and great-uncle of 44. Spending time with his family was very important to him, as was his belief in Catholic Education, his never ending support for the Pro-Life movement, his dedication to the sick, dying and the poor and his support of the Guest House and numerous other charities. Richard was ordained on May 1, 1953 and served the people of the archdiocese of Chicago as an associate at Old St. Patrick’s, St. Colette, St. Alphonsus, Christ the King and as pastor of St. Ita and Holy Ghost. After he retired, he served at St. Eugene. He was a very loving, dedicated priest who will be sorely missed by family and friends. Rest in Peace Good and Faithful Servant of the Lord. In lieu of flowers, donations to: St. Eugene or Holy Ghost Parishes would be appreciated. Lying in State Wednesday, May 27 from 3:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at St. Eugene Church 7958 W. Foster, Chicago, with wake service to take place at 7:00p.m. Family and friends will gather Thursday for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
